SFCC Vision and Direction
This year has brought significant changes to SFCC, and the year isn't even over yet. F3 met from January 2024 to June 2024 and determined the “why” statement of the church:
We build stronger families to demonstrate unconditional love and Christ-like values for generations.
At the end of June, we received a vacate notice from SDA and moved out of the facility at the end of July. Since then, we have been gathering at the Visser’s home while we navigate our new path and stay true to our why. We are committed to honoring the insights gained during the F3process and adapting them to our current situation. We also want to ensure we are fiscally responsible as we build around our why statement. SFCC plans to implement a small group model to minister to and strengthen families. The curriculum and discussions within these small groups will be designed to support family growth across all generations. Our goal is to meet families where they are and offer diverse support through our small groups. Additionally, we will organize events that bring together the small groups, fostering a sense of unity and connection within our church family.
Pastor Kim officially retired on August 31, 2024. While we search for a new senior pastor, the Board has appointed Jay Visser as the interim pastor. Doug Nasalroad will continue in his role as administrative pastor.
